Brand new scans from Nottingham reveal whether Emma Raducanu will be able to compete at Wimbledon or not
Emma Raducanu
Emma Raducanu’s latest scans reveal her chances of making it to Wimbledon. The British No.1 was seen retiring in her first-round match at the Nottingham Open after she suffered from a rib injury during the match.
The match lasted just 7 games after which Raducanu decided that she was in too much pain to continue and decided to forfeit the match and leave the court. She was seen getting assistance from the physio but that didn’t help and the only remaining solution was to retire and get herself checked by a doctor.
After retiring she repeatedly said that she would need to wait for the results of her test before estimating the time that it was going to take for her to recover. She said that she isn’t a doctor and had to go through the full medical procedure before being sure about when she’ll be back in court.
Raducanu’s latest scans have revealed that the brit doesn’t have anything to worry about as the injury wasn’t serious. However, she is expected to take a few days off to recover before coming back to practice.
Scans improve Emma Raducanu’s chances of making it to Wimbledon
The scans do look really good for Emma Raducanu, since her injury isn’t too serious she has a great chance of making it to Wimbledon which starts at the end of the month. The Brit looked excited about making it to the grass-court season and finding her lost form before making it to the grand slam.
But it might be that the next match Raducanu plays would be at Wimbledon itself. She’ll need to get ready before the tournament begins which is just a few weeks away from us.
Nevertheless, the results of her test give a sliver of hope to what was looking like a trainwreck a few days ago. She has the time and chance to get prepared for the tournament and show her talent.
