Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian is a well-known and respected person in the business community. The renowned entrepreneur had a major role to play in one of the biggest platforms in social media. Recently he was awarded the trophy of Champion of equality for playing an important role in promoting women’s sports.
Ohanian has been the biggest supporter of the 23-time Grand Slam champion. He has been a regular attendee during her matches as he is often spotted in the player’s box cheering his wife and being there for her especially when she played her farewell tournament at the Arthur Ashe stadium.
The Seven Seven Six founder spoke about the practices of de-platforming and banning communities that try to spread information that could be offensive or unacceptable. He urged that it should be the company’s decision and that nobody else should force their decisions. He believes that diverse people will have varied opinions, but it should be refrained from spreading negativity.
Ohanian shared his words of wisdom through his social media account on Twitter, drawing attention to the fact that such kind of normalcy could be dangerous at times. He shared, “Years ago, there were a lot of folks mad about de-platforming + banning communities + I insisted that it’s the right of these companies to make business decisions about what content they implicitly endorse by broadcasting. This is kind of normalization is dangerous.“

This is not the first instance when the co-founder of Reddit has given a harsh opinion. With his post, Serena Williams’ husband indirectly took a jibe against the Romanian Simona Halep‘s scandal that has grabbed attention since her blood test samples reported was out in the open. He had shared a post on his social media account tweeting “What are you all wearing for Halloween this year???”
