Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic clashed once again in the finals of the Cincinnati Masters on Sunday. The two locked horns and an incredible battle between the two ensued. Alcaraz eventually lost to Djokovic while the Serb claimed his 49th ATP Master’s title win. However, post-match, the 20-year-old was overcome with emotions as he thanked his brother for his support.

Djokovic and Alcaraz were up against each other in the final match of the Western & Southern Open. There was much anticipation about who could be the winner since the clash between the top seed was super close. In the first set, Djokovic lost to the Spaniard but eventually made his comeback and won the subsequent sets.

Post the epic match, Alcaraz went on to address the crowds. He took the moment to express his gratitude to his brother. “It’s incredible to have you here supporting me every day,” he said as the crowds cheered him on. “Thank you very much for being with me,” Alcaraz said.

Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz might lock horns again at the US Open 2023

The stage is all set for the US Open to take place from the 28th of this month. The contesting players will be traveling to Queens, New York for the Grand Slam.

Though Alcaraz was one of the fan favorites to win the title at the upcoming 2023 US Open, given he is also the defending champion, the public opinion must have changed a bit seeing Novak win the Cincinnati Open Final on Sunday in a close battle between the two.

Although Alcaraz dominated in the first set, Djokovic went on to win all the subsequent sets emerging as the title-winner, and claimed his 49th ATP Masters title, shattering various records in the process. The Spaniard still is one who has the potential to defend his title once again at the upcoming Grand Slam.

Post the match, Novak said, “Crazy. Honestly I don’t know what else I can say. Tough to describe. Definitely 1 of the toughest matches I’ve played in my life, regardless what tournament, category, level, or what player. It’s unbelievable. From beginning til the end, we both went through so much,” talking about his title clash with Alcaraz.
