With the Australian Open set to commence on Sunday, the outfit code of 2023 Wimbledon winner Carlos Alcaraz is out. It is reported that the Spaniard will be wearing a Nike-designed jersey on the court at the Australian Open. 

As per Tennis Insider, the 20-year-old will don a sleeveless yellow jersey with a bit of green around the collars. Pairing it up with the Nike white shorts will further accentuate the look.

This outfit reveal by the Spaniard garnered bizarre reactions among fans across Twitter. More interestingly, one of the fans even identified that the last time Alcaraz wore a sleeveless jersey, he lost to Daniil Medvedev.

However, when asked about the same, Alcaraz said that his fellow countryman Rafael Nadal is the inspiration for this outfit. 

Honestly, when I wear the sleeves, I was thinking about Rafa when he wears that. He won that US Open, right?
In the press conference, Alcaraz said

For the uninitiated, the Spaniard has been associated with the sporting brand Nike since 2015. Moreover, he recently signed a $1 million deal for 2020.

Though it is said that Alcaraz is opting for this outfit because of the warm, humid conditions in Australia, fans don’t seem to like the outfit at all.

That’s not all; many fans even pointed out that the sleeveless shirt doesn’t look good on anyone other than tennis pro Rafael Nadal himself.
