Carlos Alcaraz wrote a cryptic note on one of the cameras after his victory against Felix Auger-Aliassime in the third round of the 2024 Indian Wells and many fans think that it was directed towards Rafael Nadal. The two Spaniards recently faced each other at Las Vegas’ Michelob Ultra Stadium in an exhibition match called the ‘Netflix Slam’, which was streamed live by the subscription-based streaming platform.

Talking about the match between Alcaraz and Auger-Aliassime first, it was a pretty clear sweep from the Spaniard and he did not have much of a struggle against the Canadian to begin with. The two time Grand Slam winner won the match 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets.

It was after his victory that he wrote “N, see you soon,” on one of the cameras with a marker. It was obviously done to get noticed by fans and the entire tennis world and the action served its purpose.

The entire community started to wonder what Alcaraz’s cryptic tweet meant. The most obvious explanation was that it was a direct message to Rafael Nadal, whom he recently faced at the Netflix Slam. Nadal, who was initially supposed to take part in the Indian Wells, changed his decision after losing to Alcaraz in the exhibition match. The match, that the 22-time Grand Slam winner lost in a 14-12 tiebreak, led to him rethinking his decision to take part in the Indian Wells and he withdrew.

However, some fans also came up with other explanations on social media. Some said that Alcaraz has issued a warning to Novak Djokovic ahead of possibly meeting him in the final. Some others suggested that he was writing ‘Nos Venmos’, which is Spanish for ‘See You’, but changed his decision midway and wrote it down in English.

Carlos Alcaraz thinks his victory against Felix Auger-Aliassime was perfect

After his match with Felix Auger-Aliassime was over, he said in the on-court interview that he felt that he was much better than the Canadian from the baseline. He thinks that his aggressive style of playing perplexed the former World No. 6 and thus termed it a ‘perfect victory’ for him.

I put almost every return in and played the point. I felt like I’m better than him from the baseline, winning some good points on the court. I think I moved well, played aggressively with less mistakes. I think it was almost a perfect match from me

Alcaraz will now face Hungary’s Fabian Marozsan in the round of 16 of the 2024 Indian Wells. The only match that they played against each other was won by Marozsan and thus history is against the Spaniard, which is not quite often the case.
