Spanish World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz was handed a tricky draw at the French Open 2023 as he might have to face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals and Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals. Playing in his best form on clay and Rafael Nadal not in the draw, Alcaraz will be fancying his chances this year despite a comparatively tough draw.

This year, after skipping the Australian Open due to a muscle injury, he came back strong and defeated Daniil Medvedev in the Indian Wells Masters final. He was also able to retain the titles in Madrid and Barcelona. Buenos Aires is the other title he had this year.

While considering the absence of Rafael Nadal in the clay court swing till now and the struggles of Novak Djokovic to get into a rhythm, Carlos Alcaraz has a real shot at the biggest prize in Roland Garros this year.

The Spanish sensation will start off the proceedings against a qualifier in round 1. In the second round, his potential opponent is the Japanese player Taro Daniel. Followed by this, he might have to face the tricky Canadian Denis Shapovalov in the third round. Then the fourth round, which must be a tough test for Alcaraz, awaits. He will be facing either the inspired Lorenzo Musetti or Cameron Norrie there.

The going gets really tough in the quarter-finals where Stefanos Tsitsipas will be waiting for him according to the seeds. In the semi-final, the much-awaited clash with the Serbian World No.2 Novak Djokovic awaits him. Followed by this, either Daniil Medvedev, Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, or Jannik Sinner could be waiting for him in the final battle.
