Spanish tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz seems to have redeemed himself after a few back-to-back failures. Alcaraz successfully defended his crown at the 2024 Indian Wells Open as he beat Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final.
Such has been the performance from Alcaraz that Andy Roddick and Andy Murray are delighted with the young player.

After Alcaraz registered a thumping win over compatriot Roberto Caraballes Baena in his second-round match at the 2024 Miami Open on Saturday, Roddick and Murray heaped praise on the Spaniard. While Murray shared a post on X saying that seeing Alcaraz play makes him smile, Roddick agreed.
Watching Alcaraz play tennis makes me smileAndu Murray posted on X.
Andy Roddick agrees with Andy Murray about Carlos Alcaraz making them smile
Andy Murray‘s post about Carlos Alcaraz quickly caught the attention of the recent broadcast of Tennis Channel. Andy Roddick too was asked about this post from Murray and if he feels the same way. The former American ace completely agreed with Murray saying that he also smiles seeing the Spaniard in action.

Roddick also talked about Alcaraz’s impressive gameplay and lauded the youngster for his defense, strong forehand, and drop shots. The American tennis icon also claimed that the Spaniard is a “victim of his own shadow”.
Yeah, it makes me smile too because he can do things on the tennis court no one else can do. Turning offense into defense, his body is electric, the power of the forehand mixed with the drop shot, and the joy he is playing with again. He is kind of a victim of his own shadow already.

The former World No. 1 tennis player also predicted that Alcaraz would win at least eight to ten Grand Slam titles. And then signed off saying it is fun to watch Alcaraz play and that he completely agrees with Murray.
Notably, Alcaraz won his first title ever since the 2023 Wimbledon championships as he lifted the trophy at the 2024 Indian Wells. Now, the 20-year-old has made a roaring start to the Miami Open. Alcaraz beat his opponent 6-2, 6-1 on Saturday. He will next face Frenchman Gael Monfils in the third round.
