Carlos Alcaraz geared up for SPICY encounter against Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Barcelona Open final

Carlos Alcaraz and Stefanos Tsitsipas are two of the most distinguished players on the tour. Whenever they get on the court, fans are excited about a really tough competitive encounter. Both the players are in for another sizzling match, as they will face each other in the final of the Barcelona Open 2023.
However, this is not the first time both players will be competing in this tournament and in this stadium. They met each other in the quarter-final last time. At that time, Carlos Alcaraz prevailed over Stefanos Tsitsipas.
This time the current World No.2 beat Dan Evans of Great Britain in the semi-finals to march into the final. Meanwhile, Stefanos Tsitsipas beat Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 in the semi-finals to book a berth in the final.
Carlos Alcaraz in his pre-match conference on the sidelines of the Barcelona Open 2023 final expressed his excitement. “I feel really comfortable playing here in Barcelona and [I am] playing well. Stefanos as well is playing great matches. Last year we had a spicy match, let’s say. I know he’s a really nice guy off the court, so I’m going to try to forget everything that has happened in the matches before, try to focus on my game tomorrow, and try to get the win,” Carlos Alcaraz said.
This is the first time the two players are going to meet in an ATP tournament’s final.

The Spaniard and the Greek have developed an incredible rivalry over the past couple of years. The two have had some very memorable matches across the two continents– North America and Europe. However, Carlos Alcaraz has always been able to prevail over his opponent and enjoys a 3-0 lead over Stefanos Tsitsipas.
The two players first met in the third round of the US Open 2021. Carlos Alcaraz defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in a five-set marathon 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7/2), 0-6, 7-6 (7/5). Their second encounter was at the Round of 16 of the Miami Open 2022. The Spaniard again won 7-5, 6-3.
However, their match in the quarter-final round of the Barcelona Open 2022, the scoreline read 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 in the favor of the Spaniard. But the match was full of thrills and excitement as the momentum shifted from one player to another.
Stefanos Tsitsipas will have his opportunity to win an important ATP title and that too by beating Carlos Alcaraz at Barcelona. Hence, this time he would be eyeing the title and a triumph in this tournament will elevate his position in the ATP rankings.
