Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are currently in action at an exhibition event at the Riyadh Season Tennis Cup in Saudi Arabia where the duo have managed to put on a spectacular showdown for one last time this season.
During the match, the Spaniard executed a monstrous forehand that left Djokovic speechless and forced him to drop his racket in appreciation of the former. Their Riyadh encounter serves as their sixth head-to-head content in professional tennis.
On Wednesday, December 27 the pair took to the court in the jam-packed Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. While the match score ran in favor of Carlos Alcaraz, the Serb was quick to break his lead by dominating from the baseline and returning breathtaking serves.
However, the 20-year-old Spaniard couldn’t hide his amazement and stunned the 24-time Grand Slam champion with a perfectly executed backhand that left the latter in mere astonishment. The jaw-dropping video of their rally was recently uploaded via X/Twitter. Watch the video below:
Djokovic and Alcaraz’s most recent face-off came at the 2023 ATP Finals where the 36-year-olf downed the former in straight sets and proceeded to lift the event’s title, becoming the year-end World No. 1.
Novak Djokovic heaped praise on Carlos Alcaraz ahead of their Riyadh clash
Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic spoke highly of Carlos Alcaraz before the duo squared off at the Riyadh Season Tennis Cup. Nole also claimed that the young Spaniard is poised to lead the ATP Tour for years to come.
While talking in a recent interview at the Riyadh tennis venue, Nole also highlighted the dominance of the Big 3 consisting of the Serb, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer, dwindling which could potentially pave the way for Alcaraz to take the stage. Novak Djokovic told the media in Riyadh (via Marca):

World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz will be seen next in action at the Brisbane International, an ATP 500 warm-up event for the season’s first Grand Slam, the Australian Open. Meanwhile, Djokovic will be looking to defend his Melbourne Slam crown in 2024 where he could potentially face the Spaniard in the summit clash of the hardcourt event.
