World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz exuded confidence that he can win Wimbledon at least once in his career, after notching comfortable victories in his grass-court campaign at the Queen’s Club Championships. The 20-year-old Spaniard has reached the finals of the ATP 500 Series event in London, after wins over Arthur Rinderknech, Jiri Lehecka, Grigor Dimitrov, and Sebastian Korda.
Carlos Alcaraz had said that his victory over Bulgarian Dimitrov was one of his best ever grass court performances and that he feels a lot more comfortable on the surface now in contrast with previous years.
By reaching the finals of the Queen’s Club Championships, Alcaraz has not only sent out a message of intent to the rest of the top contenders that he will be tough to beat at Wimbledon but also burnished his own grass court credentials.
With the Championships scheduled to start on July 3rd, Alcaraz will be hoping to go at least one step further than what he had achieved in 2022 where he lost to fellow wunderkind Jannik Sinner in a closely fought fourth-round encounter. Alcaraz, who was recently dethroned from the top spot in the ATP rankings by 23-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic believes that he will win at least one Wimbledon title in the coming years.
“I try to learn from the best, and I’m more and more comfortable. I think I will win at least one Wimbledon,” said Alcaraz, the only player born in this millennium to win a Grand Slam Men’s Singles title as of the time of writing.

Carlos Alcaraz reaches first career grass court final
Following his comprehensive win over American Sebastian Korda, Carlos Alcaraz will square off in the title clash against seventh seed and World No. 18 Alex de Minaur who pulled off a stunning straight-set semi-final win over another 20-year-old sensation, Holger Rune.
“I’m really happy to play my first final on grass, and even more here at Queen’s.” remarked the Spaniard after dispatching Sebastian Korda 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets.
Alcaraz will look to head into the prestigious Wimbledon Championships with his first grass court title in the bag. His opponent, Alex de Minaur is the first Australian to reach the Queen’s final since 2002 Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt and has been in splendid form since defeating Sir Andy Murray in the first round.
Alcaraz and de Minaur have contested only once in the past with the Spaniard winning a gripping three-set clash in the semi-finals of the 2022 Barcelona Open.
If Alcaraz does indeed win the title at Queen’s this Sunday, which seems likely, he will reclaim the world number one ranking from Novak Djokovic and in the process secure the top seeding at Wimbledon.
