World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz has been one of the most promising young talents and is regarded as the new star after the Big 3 era. After bagging the recent Queen’s Club Championships, people have also hinted that he might be going into the upcoming Wimbledon Championships as a clear favorite over tennis great Novak Djokovic.

During his practice sessions, the Wimbledon media team asked him several questions about his inspiration and what exactly motivates him day in and day out to be the best. As per the Spanish tennis professional himself, his inspiration is none other than former World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, whom he looks up to. He said, “My inspiration in tennis growing up is Rafael Nadal. You know the values he brings into tennis. I look up to him when I was starting tennis.”

Carlos Alcaraz speaks very highly of the oldest tennis competition in the world. According to the young talent, playing on grass is “elegance“. Having not made it past the round of 16 stages in his first two appearances at Wimbledon in 2021 and 2022, the 20-year-old is all set to bag his first Wimbledon trophy this year.

Going into the competition as the top-seeded player, he already has a lot of confidence in himself, and he would like to make a mark by winning his first Grand Slam this year. After having played on the grass court while competing at the Queen’s Club Championships, he must have had a thorough study to excel on grass. With that being said, it will be interesting to see if his hard work will pay off or not. Only time will tell.
