In a post-match press conference, Spanish player Carlos Alcaraz cleared the air regarding his father keeping a watch on Serb maestro, Novak Djokovic’s training session. It was found out that Alcaraz’s father Carlos Alcaraz Sr, who is also a part of his team, has been secretly recording Djokovic’s training sessions.
The Spanish ace was asked about this weird habit of this father and much to everyone’s surprise, Alcaraz did not deny the allegations. He accepted that his father has this habit of watching everyone from close quarters and that must be the reason behind him filming the Serbian during his training session.
When asked about the alleged filming, Alcaraz responded that his father is actually a huge tennis fan and that is why he must be recording the Serbian. “Oh, probably it is true. My father is a huge fan of tennis. He doesn’t only watch my matches. I think he gets into the club at 11 a.m., get out at 10 p.m., watching matches, watching practice from everyone,” said the current world number 1.
He stated that it must be unreal for his father to watch a player, as great as Djokovic and that is why he might be recording him. The reporters then raised a question if, recording Djokovic’s training session might give Alcaraz an advantage, considering Djokovic is his most anticipated rival on the court. To this, the 20-year-old replied, “I don’t think so. I mean, I have a lot of videos from Djokovic on every platform. I think it’s not an advantage for me.”
Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic have both reached the semifinals of the Wimbledon tournament and there are very good chances of them facing each other in the final of the grand slam.

Carlos Alcaraz is set to face Daniil Medvedev in the semis
Creating history, the Spanish sensation reached the semifinals of Wimbledon for the first time in his career. Alcaraz defeated his childhood friend, Holger Rune in an impressive three-set match. It was the first time that two players under the age of 21 were playing in the quarterfinals of the GS.
Alcaraz was dominating from the beginning and overshadowed the Dane in 7-6(3), 6-4, 6-4. Although Rune was definitely the crowd favorite and kept scoring due to all the cheering, this did not annoy Alcaraz and he kept focussing on scoring more.
This victory means that the Spanish will be facing former world number, Daniil Medvedev. This is also the first Wimbledon semifinal for the Russian who defeated Christopher Eubanks in a thrilling 5-set match. After almost losing to the American, Medvedev’s aggression and frustration was evident in the match but he got a hold of himself and made a comeback to seal a spot in the semis.
Alcaraz and Medvedev have faced each other twice and both have won one match each. The last time they met was in BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, where Alcaraz defeated the Russian in straight sets.
