Caroline Garcia recently shared a cheeky response to the first-ever age-related rejection of her in the industry. While age is an important factor in the sports industry, it seems that the Frenchwoman has received a rejection for the first time on this basis.

The sports industry and the general public eye can be brutal towards an aging personality. While this is generally attributed to limited playing abilities in an aging body, the number is even more crunched in high-intensity sports like tennis.

However, Caroline Garcia, at 30 years old, has begun to get her first taste of similar rejection. The Frenchwoman had taken to Twitter (now called X) to shed light on her first rejection on age basis.

However, she also hilariously added that she valued the truth and honesty of the sponsors. While Caroline Garcia seems to be taking it lightly, it does not steer one away from the truth that the sports industry is brutal towards older players, both physically and mentally.

Caroline Garcia faces disappointment at the Australian Open

Although Caroline Garcia seems to be in good spirits, being active on social media, she has indeed faced disappointment at the opening Grand Slam, in both the singles and doubles categories. She will have to wait another year if she wishes to take another dig at the Australian Open.

Initially, the Frenchwoman had lost to Magdalena Frech in the second round of the Australian Open. However, this was not before defeating Naomi Osaka in the first round, clipping the Japanese player’s comeback dreams at the start. However, her campaign was still going strong in the doubles category.

Alongside her partner, Kristina Mladenovic, Garcia made it to the quarter-final of the Australian Open. However, they lost to the 11th-seeded pair of Jelena Ostapenko and Lyudmyla Kichenok. Nevertheless, it was not a campaign gone to waste for the Frenchwoman.
