Despite having an age gap of about ten years, Caroline Wozniacki and Venus Williams are currently at a similar stage in their respective careers.
Both are former Grand Slam winners and former World No. 1 players who are currently trying to make a comeback in their careers. The only difference is that, while Venus Williams is in the twilight of her career, the Danish probably has some years of tennis left in her.
However, there is one more similarity between the two WTA beauties, as both players were awarded wildcard entries into the 2024 Miami Open.
Upon being questioned about this ahead of her upcoming match in the tournament, the 33-year-old was all praise for the American. She called Venus Williams a legend of the game and said that having achieved what she has throughout her career, she deserves to do whatever she wants.
I think it's amazing to see Venus still out there. I mean, she's 43 years old. She's a legend of the game. She's won so much. Really she's earned the right to do whatever she wants to do. If she wants to play another 10 years, that's great. If she wants to never play again, that's also great.Caroline Wozniacki said. (Source: Miami Open Presser)
That’s not all; as per the World No. 1 herself, Venus Williams is an inspiration for all the players out there because she is competing against youngsters at the age of 43, even after back-to-back negative results, just because of her passion for the game.
I think it's just an inspiration to see her playing and fit out there, competing against all these youngsters. It's not easy. It takes a lot of hard work behind the scenes, practice and taking care of your body. I think it's always great to see her, see her in the draw. She obviously still loves playing. I think as long as she wants to play, I'm all for her playing where she wants and when she wants.Contining further, she added
