A return to the sport after a gap of more than three years, yea, you heard it right. Danish superstar Caroline Wozniacki is coming back to her tennis after announcing her retirement from the sport.
The former Australian Open champion has announced her return to the sport after being a mother to two children. She is going on the path of players like Serena Williams and Kim Clijsters. Coming back strong from motherhood.
The Danish ace has said that she will be playing in the Montreal Open. She also said that US Open, where she has been a finalist twice previously and the Australian Open where she won in 2018, are two important tournaments on her cards. Wozniacki also mentioned that she will be targeting to be in Paris next year to take part in the Olympics 2024. The former world no. 1 was asked if she was nervous or edgy before her return and this is what she had to say.
“Am I nervous? Not really. I’m coming back to something I love. I’ll be nervous before a match. Can I win the US Open? I think so. Can I win the Aus Open? I think so. That’s why I’m doing this. And I guess we’ll see what happens.” Wozniacki seems to be on a mission to get back to the top and win a few big titles. Her confidence is supreme in the way she answers questions on her return. As she said, she might feel nervous before a match but certainly is super excited about her return to the tour.
