With 20 grand slam titles to his name, Federer has etched his name in the history of tennis and is counted amongst the all-time greats of the sport. Many even consider him to be the GOAT.

The Swiss icon recently announced his imminent retirement from the sport. Federer took to Instagram to share a heartfelt and emotional message where he shared the news of his retirement. The Swiss icon would be last competing at the Laver Cup which is right around the corner.

Players like Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Rod Laver, and Billie Jean King all shared their thoughts on Federer’s retirement.

Casper Ruud, the Norwegian tennis professional also admitted to being a huge fan of Roger Federer. Ruud took to Twitter to name some of his favorite Federer moments from his career. In a tweet posted by TennisTV asking fans to name their favorite Roger Federer moments, Ruud spoke his mind as well.

Ruud wrote, “Head fake in Madrid” and “Genius how about this one? Backhand flick of the wrist inside out winner off of a net cord in Indian Wells against Dodig, can’t remember exactly which year it was tho, maybe 2014?” as his two favorite moments.

Elite tennis stars are just as much of Federer’s supporters as much as the local man, the Swiss icon has put his mark on tennis. Revolutionizing the sport for the better, Federer will always be remembered as one of the greatest players of all time after he does retire.
