Casper Ruud has been the lone representative of Norway in pro-level tennis for quite some time now. He is currently the 11th-ranked player in the world and has a career-high ranking of World No. 2.

His rise to the top is pretty inspiring, and it caught the attention of renowned British photographer David Yarrow, who had a photo shoot with the tennis player.

The photoshoot was like no other, and it was done in Norway, and Casper Ruud was dressed like a Viking.

For the uninitiated, Vikings, historically, were warriors, looters, and barbarians who belonged to Denmark, Sweden, and Norway.

Casper Ruud was recently asked in a pre-Australian Open press conference about his experience with the photoshoot, after which the World No. 11 revealed a hilarious story.

It was a quite interesting photoshoot, honestly. The photographer had been up in the middle of Norway, cutting off real sheep skin from the sheep so it smelled really, really bad. And I was actually going to the movie-theatre with my father-in-law later so I was a bit nervous that I was going to smell like sheep all over him for 2 hours. So it was quite interesting,
Ruud said.

The Norwegian also said that he is not particularly fond of the picture. While her wife wants to live in their home right at the entrance, Casper Ruud thinks that it is better off in the basement.

I don’t know what I feel about it. My girlfriend, Maria, wants it in the house but I’m not sure exactly where. I want it kind of down in the basement but she wants it right there at the entrance. So I don’t know; it’s going to be a compromise of some sort.

Casper Ruud faces Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the first round of the Australian Open

Casper Ruud will take on Spain’s Albert Ramos-Vinolas in the first round of the 2024 Australian Open. The two players have faced each other a total of seven times.

Surprisingly, the Spaniard has an edge over the Norwegian in head-to-head records.

Albert Ramos-Vinolas has defeated Ruud four out of seven times. However, all of the last three matches between them were won by Ruud.

Although it will not be an easy match for the World No. 11, he is expected to win the match in three sets. His performance in 2023 was not that great, though.

Apart from the French Open, in which he made it to the final, the Norwegian did not make it past the second round in any of the Grand Slam events.
