Carlos Alcaraz defeated Marin Cilic of Croatia in straight sets to book his place in the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Open. He made a great comeback at the Masters1000 tour with a spectacular win against Mackenzie McDonald in straight sets in the first round after his loss in the second round of the Canadian Open to Tommy Paul. He is looking to have a great tour after making six appearances in the finals of the ATP events. He has been having an extraordinary season as he claimed four titles this year which includes the Miami Open, the Madrid Open, the Rio Open, and also the Barcelona Open. The Spaniard equaled the record of his compatriot Rafael Nadal for winning four titles in a year. He also made it to the finals at the Hamburg Open as well as the Umag Open.

Norrie defeated Ben Shelton in straight sets to move into the quarter-finals at Cincinnati. He had cruised his way into the third round after defeating his compatriot Andy Murray. The young Spaniard doesn’t just rely on big groundstrokes, but some timely drop shots and incredible defense to play to his advantage. On the other hand, Norrie will be confident after defeating Murray but he needs to come back stronger and with better performance to defeat the Spaniard as the Brit has already lost to him twice this year. The only positive for the Brit is he led the match into three-set matches.

This will be the fourth encounter where both the players will be going in head-to-head against each other and the Spaniard has an upper hand over the Britisher as 3-0.
