Professional tennis coach Patrick Mouratoglou, who has previously helped the likes of Serena Williams and Simona Halep, recently hailed US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz‘ game style as a grand merger of the techniques of Big 3 trio Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Mouratoglou was speaking to Eurosport when he also praised the Spaniard’s serve speed considering his height (1.83m), saying “in addition, he serves very well for his size and returns very well.”
“I think his game is closest to Federer’s. He’s also super aggressive and super creative, he’s always trying to do something with the ball. The speed that he’s able to go in from behind, that’s pure Roger. He has Djokovic’s counter-attacking qualities. And he can play long rallies with a lot of spin, like Nadal,” the Frenchman propounded.

Today, I’m pleased to announce that I will officially be joining the Team of @holgerrune,” Mouratoglou said on Instagram.
Rune, the young player from Denmark was recently supposed to face Alcaraz in a first-round match at the Astana Open but withdrew from the tournament due to a knee injury. Rune revealed about his excitement level to play against Alcaraz in the future hoping to establish a long rivalry with the Spaniard that is quite similar to that between Nadal and Federer.
Federer and Nadal had one of the biggest rivalries in the history of tennis but with time, turned out as good friends.
“I’m excited, I hope it will be like Federer and Nadal, it could be great, that’s what we’re looking for to be the greatest players of all time and to be the best players we can be. For me, I just try to reach my potential and be as good as possible every day and improve by one percent every time I step onto the training ground,“ Rune had recently remarked.
