American World No.6 Coco Gauff agrees with Jelena Ostapenko on her slam at the US Open for the poor scheduling of the tournament. As Gauff also had to deal with the same issues before, she said that she could understand the Latvian player’s point of view. Ostapneko who set up a mouth-watering clash with the American teen in the quarter-finals of the US Open was not able to play anywhere near her best in the match.
The final score of Gauff’s win was a poor destruction: 6-0, 6-2. After the match, Gauff said on Ostapnko’s remarks about the US Open schedule, “Yeah, it’s definitely a valid thing. I remember in Montreal I had to play Marketa & we finished around 11. I played the next day at 1 or 2. I do think with the day in between it helps a bit. But also, Grand Slams are tough. She had to play the 2nd night match.”
Gauff continued, “I had doubles yesterday & I have doubles tomorrow so I get the feeling & the way of playing back to-back. Honestly, yesterday was a concern of mine when I found out I was playing 1st. I definitely can understand that point of view for sure.”
Coco Gauff is two matches away from her maiden Grand Slam title

The American star’s semi-final against the Latvian World No.21 Jelena Ostapenko was nothing short of slavery. Gauff was right on the money from the first game itself. In the total dominating display, Ostapenko had no answers for literally anything.
Coco Gauff had some intense moments in her fourth-round match where she had to shout at her own coaching staff. But the quarter-final match was so smooth for the American teen as she played with no mistakes. Ostaepnko’s poor level of tennis made it easier for her as she failed to hit even a single ace despite hitting two double faults.
The American will be facing either Karolina Muchova or Sorona Cirstea in her next round. Whoever it be, Coco Gauff will be the favorite in her home soil playing in front of her own crowd. According to the projected draw now, The current World No.1 player as per live rankings, Aryna Sabalenka will be playing the finals from the other part of the draw.
