Coco Gauff, the rising star of American tennis, has risen to the ranks in a brief period and looks to continue the form into 2024. The youngster continues to improve her game as she takes a small self-assessment to rate her drop shot.

Recently, at the semi-finals of the ASB Classic, Gauff attempted a drop shot against Emma Navarro but failed to land it in position.

The nail-biter of a match started in the usual manner, with both the top seeds winning their respective games in the first set to take it to the tiebreak. This was where Svitloina won a few important shots to take the set and stamp her lead over the youngster.

However, Gauff wasn’t the one to stay down for long, as she dug her way out of trouble and bounced back to win the next two sets and the match 6(4)-7, 6-3, 6-3.

This marked a successful title defense for the 2023 US Open winner and sent a loud and clear message to her Australian Open draw.

With only a week left before the Australian Open commences, all the players will get their heads into the game and prepare for the first Slam of the year, which promises to be a huge hit.
