The American hope Coco Gauff gets over Caroline Wozniacki in an epic fourth-round encounter at the Flushing Meadows. In a match with all the drama, the American World No.6 proved to be clutch in critical moments and got the ticket for the quarter-finals. The final score of the instant classic was 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. Gauff had moments of disbelief and even asked her coaching team to shut up during the heated encounter.

Coco Gauff on the court interview paid tribute to Wozniacki as she said it felt like the former Danish World No.1 never left for some months from tennis. In her words, “Caroline is back and it feels like she never left. She was an inspiration for me growing up. It’s a little weird, I grew up watching her. To be on court with her was an honor” Whatever Coco Gauff said seemed to be perfect as the Danish star fought her heart out against the younger opponent.

After the match, Coco Gauff also explained why she shouted towards the stands. The coach definitely seemed to be unhappy with her outburst even after the match but it is sure that the emphatic win must be enough for the American star to cover up the unfortunate moments.

Coco Gauff’s reaction to her coaching team during the match was intense

The American star’s quarter-final match will be either against Polish World No.1 Iga Swiatek or Latvian World No.21 Jelena Ostapenko. whoever is the opponent, the American 19-year-old will be ready to fight her heart out in front of her home crowd. The reaction from her during the matches shows that she is trying to be focused on her matches more than ever.

One of the intense moments during her fourth-round match was her reactions to the coaching team in the stands. In the on-court interview later, Coco Gauff was asked about what actually happened. Coco Gauff’s reply was something to make her team chill a bit even though her coach didn’t look happy even after her remarks during the interview.

Gauff said about the incident, “Sometimes I tell [my coaches] to chill a little bit because I like to figure things out for myself. Sometimes it’s a stress reaction“. It will be interesting to see whether she is going to change her attitude in the coming rounds of the US Open as she said previously that it is more important to be a better person than being a better player.
