Aryna Sabalenka does not believe she is the favorite while Coco Gauff promises to better her performance from last year

After posing with the trophy, the eight players also talked about how they felt about their chances of winning the prestigious tournament. Sabalenka stayed rooted as she denied claiming that she is the favorite just because she is the top-ranked player in the world.

The World No.1 also looked a bit worried about the wind affecting her game. Meanwhile, Swiatek boldly claimed that she is the best in the fitness aspect.

Physically I feel good, in that aspect, I am one of the best.
Iga Swiatek said while hoping to enjoy the contest (H/T: WTA Finals).

Coco Gauff, the reigning US Open champion, on the other hand, promised to perform better than the last time. The World No.3 said that she is expecting a better show as the conditions look a bit familiar to her. She then joked about being a mermaid.

I hope to have fun, I have been practicing well, in the last Finals I did not do the best, I hope it will be different. I expect great support from the fans…being here reminds me a little of home, I live near Miami and the conditions are similar, I love the beach, I'm like a mermaid.
Coco Gauff said of her chances.

Notably, Gauff has earned a second consecutive qualification for the year-end tournament. The American could not qualify for the semifinals last year. Nevertheless, Gauff and her doubles partner Jessica Pegula have qualified in both singles and doubles events this year and would be hoping to win the title in at least one category.
