Coco Gauff had an extremely successful season in 2023. She won her first Grand Slam in the 2023 US Open and also won other tournaments like the Citi Open and the Cincinnati Open, which again was her first win in an ATP 1000.

This helped the American youngster climb up the rankings, and she now has a WTA ranking of World No. 3, which is justified because she is indeed in the league of elite tennis players now.

She recently took part in the 2024 ASB Classic, which was her first tournament of the year. The 19-year-old won the tournament by defeating Elina Svitolina in the final.

She lost the first set but ended up winning the match 6-7, 6-3, 6-3. Coco took part in the ATP 250 event to prepare herself for the upcoming 2024 Australian Open, and she will now head into the Grand Slam full of confidence.

However, apart from the Grand Slam events, the tennis players also have the Paris Olympics in mind this year, and Coco Gauff is no different.

The youngster expressed her wish of winning at least one medal in the 2024 Olympics and said that she would ideally like to participate in all three events, i.e., singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.

Yeah, one of the goals I wrote down on my vision thing, was to win a medal in the Olympics. Ideally I would want to play all three.
Coco said.

Coco is in the same quarter of the draw as Naomi Osaka, and the two could meet in Round 4. Osaka, who recently made her comeback to the court, has some history with the current World No. 3, and their match, if it indeed takes place, will be one to watch.

Talking about Coco’s first-round match, she is expected to win it without much difficulty.
