“This is the best of the best,” Coco Gauff locks the WTA Finals title as her next goal
Coco Gauff revealed what would be her choice between a Grand Slam title and WTA Finals title.

Reigning US Open champion Coco Gauff now has her eyes set on the best of the best titles on the tour- the WTA Finals. Gauff, who had a second heartbreak at the season-ending championships in the second attempt said that winning the WTA Finals is one of her main goals now.
The 19-year-old American said that she grew up dreaming of Grand Slam titles but now as she has matured as a player, the WTA Finals title is her goal.

Notably, Coco Gauff who was drawn in the same group as Iga Swiatek, Ons Jabeur, and Marketa Vandrousova reached the semifinals with a scoreline of 2-1 in the group stage. Her only defeat in the round-robin format came against WTA Finals champion Iga Swiatek. In the semis, she met her doubles partner Jessica Pegula who beat the US Open champion in straight sets.
Nevertheless, it was definitely a learning curve for the youngster who was making just her second appearance at the season-ending championships. Now, as the season comes to an end and players go into the off-season, Gauff has revealed her goals for the 2024 season.
It would be cool to win it. To be honest, as a kid, I always dreamt of winning Grand Slams. I think as I’ve grown as a pro on tour, I learned more about what the WTA Finals is about. I’d definitely say that would be a goal of mine now, after competing in it for 2 years & realizing this is the best of the best. I do think I can improve. Coco Gauff reveals her pick between a Grand Slam title or a WTA Finals title
The 19-year-old American who pipped the current World No.2 Aryna Sabalenka in the summit clash of the 2023 US Open to clinch her maiden Grand Slam title also revealed her pick between a Grand Slam title and the WTA Finals title. When Coco Gauff was asked if she would like to win another Grand Slam title or the WTA Finals title, she chose the former.

Coco Gauff said that while she would like another Grand Slam title to her credit, winning the WTA Finals title is definitely one of her goals. Gauff called the WTA Finals one of the most challenging not just because the top eight players compete for the ultimate prize but also for the fact that the season ends with it.
If I had to choose, I’d rather win another Slam. But it’s definitely a dream. I think this tournament is one of the most challenging. Not only because it’s the Top 8, but because it’s the end of the season.
Notably, Coco Gauff great 2023 season as she won her maiden Grand Slam title. Gauff also finished the season as the World No.3, her best-ever year-end ranking. The 19-year-old American also won her first WTA 1000 title (in Cincinnati).
