In the world of sports, athletes always go through a phase of rise and fall. Many players handle the rise well, but only a few can accept their dull phases and work towards it. Coco Gauff, the top-ranked American, recently accepted that there is always going to be a phase where she may not play well after the WTA Finals exit.
In an epic semi-final clash against her doubles partner Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff wasn’t playing her best tennis and eventually lost to her fellow teammate, who continues to remain unbeaten in the tournament.
The last couple of days were hard mentally, but I think I tried my best handling that. I think next year, there’s definitely gonna be a part of the season where I probably won’t play as well. It’s inevitable. Hopefully, next year if it happens, I’ll try not to beat myself up too much. The American said via Cancun Press.
The American revealed that she learned to not put a lot of pressure on one part of the season and focus on the positives. Throughout the year, Coco has proved to the tennis world that she is a player to watch out for and has the capabilities to play and beat even the top-ranked players.
