Tennis top prospect Coco Gauff, who is currently ranked seventh in the World rankings, has faced a lot of criticism for her slumping form in the last few months. The American started her career in impressive form, making it to the headlines of every major newspaper after being the youngest player to win a major WTA tournament. However, since her runners-up finish at the Roland Garros last year, she hasn’t been in the best of form.

The tennis professional has already tried her luck with nine coaches. However, Coco Gauff has finally roped in a new coach, Pere Riba for the upcoming tournaments. With that being said, it seems like Coco has set her eyes on the major Wimbledon Championships, which starts next week.

Pere Riba has been coaching Qinwen Zheng for the last two years, and he will join Gauff in their first WTA tournament in Eastbourne. Which will also allow both of them to understand each other before Wimbledon kicks off.

Fans did not hold back after her shambolic performance against Alexandrova, with one saying, “Coco needs to take a year off from tennis. Her forehand is that bad.” Another fan said, “Coco has lost some of her consistency recently.

The comments led her to make a lot of changes in the next few weeks, thereby finally putting her faith in Pere Riba.

After Coco Gauff lost her German Open matchup against Ekaterina Alexandrova, she faced a lot of criticism, with fans on Twitter going wild with their tweets. The fans bashed Gauff and also criticized her father, who was her coach during that time, which forced her to sack him. She also faced severe match-fixing allegations, which saw her weep at the end of the match.

Gauff lost 4-6, 0-6 to Alexandrova, but the thing that angered the fans the most was her mismanagement during the match. She started well, and after taking a 3-1 lead in the first set, Gauff suffered a heavy loss, losing 11 of the next 12 games and winning just 2 points from her second serve in the entire match. With Wimbledon just a week away, she would be adamant about proving her haters and critics wrong.
