About the crazy point that Coco scored, it took place after Muchova fumbled a return from her and hit it straight up. It dropped straight in front of the net, and Muchova was standing in her place, waiting for Coco to easily hit it near her right service court. She did, but it was a terrible shot, and the ball whisked past the net, touching it on its way too. Thus, although Coco got the point, it was a terrible shot by her.

Coco Gauff has recently added Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick’s former coach Brad Gilbert to her team, and she is seeing instant results. Since the American coach joined Coco’s camp, there has been a gradual improvement in her performance.

He joined her team during the Citi Open. Since then, Coco has won the Citi Open, reached the quarterfinals of the Canadian Open, and has now also won the Cincinnati Open. It’ll be interesting to see whether they can keep up the same level in the upcoming US Open as well.

In a recent interview, Coco revealed that Gilbert has imparted a lot of tennis wisdom to her, taught her how to play the points correctly, and also increased her mental fortitude. She called him one of the best tennis minds out there and narrated how he has helped her improve her approach in big situations.

“He’s just making me be serious, but we’re all enjoying the game and having a lot of fun, and we’re really thriving and excited for those tough matchups. And just taking every point, being physical at every point—and I think that’s the best advice he’s given me in such a short amount of time,” Coco said.
