Following in the footsteps of the American legend, Gauff had made her mark in tennis by becoming the youngest US Open winner after Serena. Ever since the 19-year-old has been in the form of her life and continues to dominate the WTA tour. Carrying that form into 2024, Gauff hasn’t lost a set at the Australian Open as she makes her way into the fourth round.

The youngster was up against her compatriot Alycia Parks in the third round but that did not stop her from playing her A game. Gauff won the game 6-0,6-2 to find herself moving to the next round of the tournament. However, after the match, Gauff had a few endearing words for her opponent that got the fans busy on the internet.

From praising Gauff and the Willaims to trolling Parks, the X users lashed out at the post. “ This is the house that Williams built” posted a fan on X. Fans found it very sweet of Gauff to say such inspiring words to her opponent showing some traits of the iconic Serena Williams. 

Nonetheless, Gauff continues her brilliant form at the Australian Open and joins the last 16 women to compete for the spot in the quarterfinals. She is up against Magdalena Frech who won against Daria Saville before another huge victory against Caroline Garcia. Both the players are in great form and promise an amazing clash. After some major upsets in the tournament, the draw is wide open for any player to seize the moment and dethrone Aryna Sabalenka for the Australian Open title.
