Frances Tiafoe, the 24-year-old American professional is one of the top current generation players around and a formidable opponent to anyone in the world on his day, Tiafoe hasn’t had that good of a form since the US swing started and the American professional has been unable to do well in tournaments recently.
Tiafoe managed to reach the semi-finals of the Atalanta Open where he was eliminated by Jenson Brooksby, Tiafoe was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Citi Open and he was knocked out in the second round of the Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Masters event as well, he entered the US Open with hopes of improving on her recent performances.

Frances Tiafoe had put in excellent performances in the US Open this year, he beat compatriot Marcos Giron in the first round of the tournament, Jason Kubler in the second, and Diego Schwartzman in the third round. Tiafoe faced his toughest battle yet as he went head to head with Spaniard Rafael Nadal.
Frances Tiafoe was not the favorite to win before facing Nadal as being one of the all-time greats, everyone expected Rafael Nadal to snatch the victory and make his way into the quarter-finals of the event. The American professional shocked the world as he breezed past Nadal in over four sets by 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
The win was of such a high stature that Basketball legend, LeBron James took to Twitter to congratulate Tiafoe on the victory, he wrote, “CONGRATS Young King!!! You earned it!” Tiafoe’s victory truly shocked the world as everyone expected Rafael Nadal to win the game as the Spaniard was one of the favorites to go all the way in the tournament.
Tiafoe was overwhelmed with emotions after eliminating Rafael Nadal and the American insisted that he cannot believe that he was able to pull off this upset, Tiafoe will be going up against Andrey Rublev in the quarter-finals of the US Open as he will be brimming full of confidence ahead of the match-up.
