American sensation Danielle Collins has been on a major rise since the last two tournaments. The Indian Wells saw what the American was truly capable of, and immediately after, she put up a winning show.
After a Miami Open win, Collins carried the momentum forward to Charleston, where she made it to the finals. Continuing her dominant run, she cruised past her rounds for an opportunity at a second consecutive title.
The American brushed away Maria Sakkari in the semi-finals, beating her 6-3, 6-3 to book a spot against Daria Kasatkina in the finals. The two have faced each other multiple times before, with the Russian having won a match more than Collins.
Nonetheless, the American heaps praise on Kasatkina, as she gears up for the finals. Naming her as a warrior, Collins revealed that she always enjoys battling against the Russian.

30-year-old Danielle Collins has found some form at the right time. With 2024 being her last season on Tour, the American found the right moment to shine.
The Florida native made her hometown proud after winning her maiden Master’s title. Collins beat Elena Rybakina to win the Miami Open, after which she soon found herself in the finals of Charleston as well.
Collin’s latest win came against Maria Sakkari in the semi-finals, as she finished the match pretty fast. In straight sets, the American sealed her spot in the finals. This was her 12th straight win, and she aims for one more.
Moreover, Collins also gave a shout-out to her pet after the semi-final win. The American wrote “Hi Quincy” on the camera as she concluded the match. Now, Collins is a step closer to a second title, as she hopes to end the year and her career on a high.
