“That’s the main priority,” American WTA player makes retirement plans clear, steering into a family life and interests “other than tennis”
Danielle Collins has opened up about her future plans in her interview with the Doha Press.

American tennis player Danielle Collins recently opened up about her retirement plans after this ongoing season. The WTA player has also opened up about her main priority in life which is to stay away from the limelight and steer into family and other interests other than tennis.
Danielle Collins has stated that she wants to get away from this hectic lifestyle revolving around competitions and tennis. In her interview with the Doha Press after her win against Naomi Osaka, Collins opened up about her future plans.

Here is what the former Australian Open finalist had to say:
I'm not sure. I'm not sure if I'll kind of continue working in tennis. I think I definitely want to start a family. That's the main priority. And have other interests outside of the tennis court and kind of need to have the time and the space to be able to focus on, you know, what sparks my interest. So, I kind of need a little bit of time to figure out what that's going to be, but I think what I'm looking forward to the most is kind of stepping away from public eye.Danielle Collins said
It is worth noting that, Danielle Collins’ run at the Doha Open 2024, came to an end after a straight-set loss against Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova.
Danielle Collins is ready for the next chapter
The American player turned pro in 2016. Since then, Collins has been a regular feature in the Grand Slams as well as the WTA Tours. She reached the finals of the Australian Open in 2022.

However, being tired of the hardships of being a tennis player, the American has decided to step aside and start a new chapter. But she had claimed that she is taking this season with the same importance and discipline as she had throughout the season. Even though she was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease rheumatoid arthritis, the American player had revealed that the disease has nothing to do with her retirement plans.
Even after the Australian Open loss to Iga Swiatek last month, Collins had expressed her wish to have a child. Thus, owing to her wish for a new lifestyle, Collins is all set to step aside from the court.
