Danielle Collins is all set to face Elena Rybakina in the Miami Open final. Collins defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova 6-2, 6-3 in the semifinals, while Rybakina defeated Victoria Azarenka to set a place in the final.

Collins, who has shown unexpected form at the tournament, will be hoping to cause an unexpected upset in her maiden Masters final. Rybakina, on the other hand, will be aiming to win her third title this season. However, both players have gotten into the Miami final not as favorites but by winning all the matches in the tournament.

Elena Rybakina and Danielle Collins will play each other in the Miami Open final, a rematch of the Abu Dhabi quarterfinal clash.

Rybakina had skipped Indian Wells early this month due to illness but returned for the second Sunshine tournament. She defeated Clara Tauson in the first match of her Miami campaign.

Despite Taylor Townsend being resilient, Rybakina won 6-5, 6-7, 6-4. She then defeated Madison Keys and Maria Sakkari to set up against Victoria Azarenka in the semifinals. She defeated the Belarusian 6-4, 0-6, 7-6 to reach the final.

On the part of Collins, the American has shown strength and quality performance in Miami. She has played in eight tournaments this season, one of the highest by a WTA player.

However, poor performances have seen her struggle in February, even losing in the first round of Indian Wells to Iga Swiatek. However, she has beaten the likes of Caroline Garcia, Sorana Cirstea, and Ekaterina Alexandrova to reach the final of the Miami Open.

Given the fact that Elena Rybakina leads Danielle Collins 3-1 in head-to-head,  Russian-born Kazakhstani stands as the favorite to win the Miami Open title. She has kept an outstanding record of 22 wins in her 25 matches this season.

However, Rybakina has been a bit rusty since recovering from illness. She struggled against American Taylor Townsend and Maria Sakkari.

Despite beating Sakkari 7-5 in the first set, she lost the second set after a tiebreak but reclaimed the lead to win the match in the final set. Also, against Victoria Azarenka, she lost the second set 6-0 before winning the third set after a tiebreak.
