Subsequently, the 2021 US Open champion directed his statement towards his frequent controversies with spectators and cited mental fatigue as the reason. However, the Russian insisted on improving for the upcoming season to avoid any future occurrences.

Try to be more professional, try to fight harder, try to be better on the court. Because I think actually at the end of the season I was a little bit too much all over the place because I was mentally tired. So, I'm going to try to do all of this better next year and hopefully I can become a better person.
Daniil Medvedev said in an interviewer via The National News.

The World No. 3 recently laid his hands on the 2023 World Tennis League title after the Russian and Andrey Rublev led Team Eagles to down rival Team Kites by 29-26.

The only thing I'm sure of is that Novak is always going to be up there. I think both they [rivals] and I were a step above the others, as the ranking showed. In each season you can see ups and downs of most tennis players.

The World No. 3 is speculated to perform next at the 2024 Australian Open, a hardcourt event where the 27-year-old suffered a dreadful fate last season after he lost the third round to Sebastian Korda in straight sets.
