Daniil Medvedev is unbothered with his upcoming semi-final match against Carlos Alcaraz. He said that just like Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are beatable, so is Alcaraz. The match against the Spaniard might be hard, but this does not mean that he is unbeatable. Like every player, he too has his bad days and weak spots.
With both players having a US Open title each under their belt, they will prove to be the toughest opponents they have faced in the US Open 2023. Medvedev, in a press conference, said, “He has every shot. He has extra power compared to other players. ” The Russian also said, “Maybe 97 percent of the players, it’s tough to hit the ball through me,” referring to his constant moving around the court and running.
Medvedev also acknowledged that the Spaniard can hit it through though, just because he has the power to do so. He said that some players cannot do that even if they try. The Russian, however, highlighted that no one is unstoppable. “People even beat Rafa on clay, which is almost impossible to do,” he said, talking about the fact that anyone can be beaten, including Alcaraz. Medvedev said that he just has to move quicker and play on the line if he had to.
Ever since he turned pro in 2018, Alcaraz has been creating ripples in the tennis world. A lot of the players have been amazed by his game. The Spaniard has defeated some of the top players in the world during very crucial matches. The Spaniard, at just 20 years old, has been World No.1 and has been phenomenal ever since. However, this does not seem to deter Daniil Medvedev, who will be playing the semi-final match against the young Spaniard.
Daniil Medvedev is set to face Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-final
Carlos Alcaraz defeated German Alexander Zverev in the quarter-final and advanced to the next step. He is set to face Daniil Medvedev in the semi-final match at Flushing Meadows. Medvedev will prove to be the young Spaniard’s toughest opponent yet at the 2023 US Open.
Each of the players has one US Open title under their belt, and they will both play their best and try to increase that number. With the Spaniard being in possibly the best form of his career, he enters the US Open fresh out of the celebration for his Cincinnati Masters title. At the US Open 2023, he will try to defend his US Open title.
Both players will try to play their best games and try to get the better of the other player. They will both hope to use all their experience gathered and try to make it into the final.
