Russian tennis ace Daniil Medvedev gave his all during the men’s singles final at the 2024 Indian Wells Masters. Although the 28-year-old lost to Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets, Medvedev did everything he could do to stop the Spaniard.

Known for his agility and flexibility, Medvedev put on a display as he returned a shot in his typical style during the final. As the two players were involved in intense rallies throughout the match, Medvedev had to find ways to stay alive.

During the first set, Alcaraz hit a shot, and the ball flew out of Medvedev’s reach, but the Russian leaped while running back and managed to perfectly hit his shot. Medvedev’s shot landed perfectly and gave him a chance to fight against a roaring Alcaraz.

A small video clip also captured this incredible effort from Medvedev, and fans shared it on social media. In the video, it can be seen how Medvedev plays a shot while not being in total control of his body. The commentator also seems to be in awe of it.

It’s a repeat of result at the Indian Wells for Daniil Medvedev

While he gave it all, Daniil Medvedev could not win his maiden Indian Wells Open title. It was a repeat of last year’s final for Medvedev, with the only difference being that the Russian seemed to have a chance this year. The 28-year-old started the match on a high but could not convert that start into a win.

Going 3-0 up in the opening set, it felt Medvedev might get his first title of the season and his first major win since the Rome Masters last year. However, the Russian ace saw Carlos Alcaraz unfurl some unbelievable shots to win the first set in a tiebreaker.

The pain doubled for Medvedev in the second set where the 28-year-old could managed to win only one game. The three-time Australian Open finalist was taken to the cleaners as Medvedev looked tired in the second set. He eventually lost it 6-1 and just like last year, it was a defeat in straight sets for Medvedev.
