After a commanding victory against Nuno Borges in the fourth round of the Australian Open, the No. 3 seed was interviewed by the legendary Jim Courier. Being very real with the former athlete, Medvedev showed the world his fun side, which is very much loved by the fans.
During the interview, Courier handed the mic over to the Russian to give everyone a masterclass on the return of the serves. Taking the opportunity, Medvedev got the fans holding their stomachs with his actions.
Showered with immense love by the fans, Medvedev was also asked if he enjoyed the company of the American. Agreeing with the interviewer, the tennis pro revealed that he can bring out a different side of himself in contrast to his ‘crazy personality’ on the court.
100%. I feel like, exactly as you say when I talk to him, people can see this side of my personality because it's a little bit different than I'm on the tennis court. I try to be focus. Also, I can get nervous. Then we see a guy that doesn't really talk much and only can get crazy. Even when I get crazy, I try to focus again, so I'm silent again. Maybe it looks strange. At least when I talk, people can see that I can talk and be a normal person.Said Medvedev to the AO Press.
Holding out mutual respect for the American, Medevedev revealed that he enjoys Courier’s interviews and is delighted to show people his normal side.
