Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev share words of admiration after US Open Final

After the 2023 US Open Final was done and dusted with Novak Djokovic being crowned the undisputed champion, Daniil Medvedev lauded the 36-year-old saying he still could not fathom how he won a Grand Slam final against Djokovic (Medvedev had defeated the Serb in 2021 US Open Final to lift his maiden Grand Slam title). The Russian also lauded Djokovic for his humility and humble nature.
“I find it amazing that I beat Novak in a Grand Slam Final. I played 5 finals against them (Djokovic and Rafael Nadal) and only won 1. He pushes me to be better.. we met when I was 500 in the world. He was super kind to me. He treated me as a normal person. He still does. Nothing changed. 24 Grand Slams, nothing changed. I think that’s something great about a person,” said Medvedev.
Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic also reciprocated the love saying that Medvedev has the most authentic personality. The Serbian legend also hoped, or better to say predicted, that Medvedev would win quite a few Grand Slam titles. Djokovic also asked the Russian to never change, especially with his celebrations and his comments.
