Russian tennis ace Daniil Medvedev seems to have had enough of the crowd as he wants to kick a few of them out of the stadium. As Medvedev defeated defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the second US Open 2023 semifinal on Friday to set up a final clash with Novak Djokovic spoke about the occasional booing from the crowd at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.
As Medvedev was asked about the crowd behavior during the course of the tournament after Medvedev was done with his semifinal match against Alcaraz, the Russian said that he was not so pleased with a few people shouting unnecessarily between the first and second serve.
“As I just said, for whatever reason, last game of the match, 1000 Spanish guys started shouting and yelling between the first and second serve. That’s not nice but what can you do,” complained Medvedev. “If after my career I’m at a tennis match, & someone does it, I’m going to be like ‘It’s him! This guy should be out of the tournament. Kick him out’,” he added.
Notably, Medvedev had called out these spectators during his on-court interview saying that they were desperate and hopefully they can go to sleep now.

Daniil Medvedev gears up for a 2021 US Open final rematch
With Daniil Medvedev going past Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic thumping Ben Shelton, it is going to be a rematch of the 2021 US Open final when these two players met, with Medvedev emerging victorious. The Russian ace has said that he will draw inspiration from the win but it won’t be an easy task considering how Djokovic evolves after every defeat.
Medvedev anticipates that Djokovic will play ten times better than he did in 2021 and hence he will also have to be ten times better to beat the Serbian. Meanwhile, Novak Djokovic is also eagerly waiting for the ultimate showdown. Interestingly, Novak Djokovic has lost only once on the hard court this year and that was against Medvedev in Dubai. The 36-year-old was defeated in straight sets.
