World No. 3 Daniil Medvedev was by far the match favorite for his quarterfinal clash against Christopher Eubanks. However, strangely, the tennis professional has been completely clueless against the American after the first set and has lost back-to-back sets in quick succession, failing to even give Eubanks a proper battle.
He lost the second set by 6-1 and then the third set by 6-4, but the main incident that attracted a lot of viewers was when the Russian flicked away and it hit the cameraman. He was held guilty of misconduct by the umpire, with which he was very unhappy.
It is pretty much understandable what was going through his head after losing consecutive sets. He then went up to the umpire and asked for clarification.
Furthermore, Medvedev wasn’t too comfortable with the way the umpire was talking to him, and he reacted heavily to it, saying, “How do you talk to me? Talk to me like that”. This conversation went viral in just a couple of minutes because of how rageful Medvedev looked. With that being said, it seemed like he was still not over the shock of losing back-to-back sets, which might end his reign at Wimbledon this year.
