Daria Kasatkina yesterday took to Instagram to wish her girlfriend Natalia Zabiiako on her birthday. The Russian tennis superstar posted an intimate picture of the two, breaking Russian stereotypes regarding LGBTQIA+ relationships. Kasatkina had revealed in the year 2022, that she was dating Russian figure skater, Natalia Zabiiako.

The World No. 13, along with her girlfriend, is an avid social media user. The pair consistently post on their social media channels, keeping their fans updated with their lives. The couple also regularly post vlogs when they are not actively competing on their YouTube channel, ‘Zabiiako & Kasatkina’ from the tournaments that they participate in.

On Instagram, Kasatkina wrote, “Happy birthday to my universe? I love you more than I could ever imagine.” The post received mixed reactions from the netizens and garnered much attention.

“Lovely photo and awesome couple. Hope you treated her to something special Dasha. Love you both❤️‍?❤️,” wrote one user in the comments section. “Love is always beautiful,” wrote another. The comments under the post were a mixed bag. Some of them praised the lovely couple while others simply wished Natalia a ‘Happy Birthday’. Amid all the positive comments, the post faced scrutiny and also had some negative remarks.

Daria Kastakina is one of the highest-rated players and is currently, the No. 1 Russian player in singles. She is also not afraid to speak out and lives her truth, much like her girlfriend. Daria admitted to having a girlfriend last year during a conversation with a Russian blogger. The tennis star talked about how “living in peace with yourself” is the “only thing that matters”. She is currently playing in Cincinnati Open.

The tennis player’s figure skater girlfriend, Natalia Zabiiako, too has been vocal about her relationship with Daria ever since they came out of the closet in July last year. Natalia is an exceptional skater and has won medals at the Olympics as well as at other World Championships.

The pair broke Russian stereotypes with their ‘unusual’ relationship and have received an outpour of support from their fans around the world and the global media.
