13th seed Daria Kasatkina was comprehensively defeated by the newly crowned No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the fourth round of the US Open on Monday. Making her first appearance in the fourth round in Flushing Meadows since 2017, Kasatkina lost in straight sets (1-6, 3-6). The 26-year-old Russian struggled with her serve, conceding 11 break points and losing seven of them. 

Indicative of her laid-back approach, Kasatkina had a hilarious response to Rennae Stubbs’ question regarding her preparation for the night match. “Well, honestly, we spent the whole day yesterday thinking about how to promote my YouTube channel, and I think this is it. Guys, subscribe. Just search my surname on YouTube, and you’ll find it. And in case the match is not going to be interesting, you can always watch YouTube,” Kasatkina jokingly said in the pre-match interview.

Daria Kasatkina and her girlfriend Natalia Zabiiako jointly run a YouTube channel named ‘Zabiiako and Kasatkina’. The pair share regular updates regarding their tour life and personal lifestyle on the channel.

They started the YouTube channel in October of last year. The channel has 21.3k subs and has amassed over 2 million views till date.

Russian No.1 women’s singles player Daria Kastakina has always spoken her mind without fear, much like her girlfriend. Daria admitted to having a girlfriend last year during a conversation with a Russian blogger. The tennis star talked about how living in peace with herself was the only thing that mattered to her. 

The tennis player’s figure skater girlfriend, Natalia Zabiiako, has been vocal about her relationship with Daria ever since they opened up in July last year. Natalia is an exceptional skater and has won medals at the Olympics as well as at other World Championships.

The pair broke Russian stereotypes with their ‘unusual’ relationship and have received an outpour of support from their fans around the world and the global media.
