Casper Ruud had made history at the French Open 2022. He became the first Norwegian to play the Grand Slam final. Ruud who is considered a clay-court specialist finally came through at Roland Garros. He came into the French Open with a semifinal run in Rome, a title defense in Geneva, and went all the way to face his idol, Rafael Nadal in the final of the French Open 2022.

Even though Ruud lost in straight sets to Rafa, it was a great performance from the first time Grand Slam finalist to stand up against Rafa in the final who had a 13-0 score in the French Open final, and now has racked up a record 14 French Open titles. With the dream run in pairs, Ruud has become number 6 in the ATP ranking. Ruud would like to continue his momentum as he proceeds to the grass season.

In a past interview at Miami Open, Casper Ruud talked about the grass surface saying that grass is for golfers and his preparation for the grass season will be golfing. Some of the Twitteratis have not taken the joke very well, but Ruud has clarified his statement.
