“Die b**ch” Coco Gauff gets horrible DMs after a brutal loss in the third round of Wimbledon 2022
Coco Gauff
Coco Gauff was pitted against compatriot Amanda Anisimova in the thrid-round of Wimbledon 2022. It was a spectacular match between the two leading women in American tennis. Anisimova came out all guns blazing to take the lead in the first set, but Gauff was able to defend well and eventually took the first set. But, Anisimova’s assault didn’t stop and Gauff cracked under the barrage of aggressive shots. Anisimova won the match convincingly 6-7, 6-2, 6-1 as her debut on center court put her in the fourth round of Wimbledon for the first time.
It was a disappointing match for Gauff who was not able to execute her plans under the relentless pressure from Anisimova. She would’ve liked to improve on her fourth-round appearance in Wimbledon 2021, but she crashed in the third round this year. It was an anti-climatic grass-court season for Gauff who would’ve hoped for a different result after the stellar performance in the lead-up tournament in Berlin.
Coco Gauff receives a lot of hate messages from trolls after her loss.
Coco Gauff was expected to win as she was a favorite in her 3rd round match against Anisimova due to the teenage star being in spectacular form. She was the runner-up at the French Open 2022 and after the semifinal appearance in Berlin, she looked strong on grass. But she was unable to execute her plans against Anisimova and lost. This loss must be particularly tough for her because she was the higher-ranked player and she had also lost to Anisimova in the final of the junior US Open as well.
Since people are involved in betting on tennis, the favorites losing would cause a lot of loss to the people who bet on them and it’s a major reason why the players get so much hate from ‘random nobodies’ over the Internet. Coco Gauff also received a lot of hate messages regarding her loss, but it was refreshing to see that she was not too hard on herself and felt like she tried her best. But it was an extremely sad thing to see such a brilliant and young athlete receiving so much hate from people who have no idea what it’s like to lose on such a big stage.
