After winning twenty grand slams and numerous titles, he was given a send-off befitting a champion. In the Laver Cup, The Swiss great paired up with the Spanish legend Rafael Nadal for doubles match against the pair of Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe.

The American pair of Tiafoe and Sock of Team World defeated the pair of Nadal and Federer of Team Europe in a thrilling encounter 4-6 7-6 11-9. This victory turned things around for Team World as they came on the court with much more vigor and energy in the next couple of days eventually snatching the Laver Cup from Team Europe.

After the event, the Argentine player and the Swiss legends traded their rackets. Federer signed the racket for Schwartzman as ‘Rosher’. It remained a mystery to tennis fans why Roger signed Schwartzman’s racket as ‘Rosher’ and not the usual ‘Roger Federer’.
