The painful journey of World number 1, Novak Djokovic continues as he lost a tough battle against Andrey Rublev in the final of the Serbia Open 2022. Novak started the year with controversy and continued with poor runs in the tournaments. His only good result came in the recently concluded Serbia Open, where he finished runner-up behind Rublev.
Rublev had previously said that it was Novak’s tournament. He was playing in front of the home crowd and he was playing well, making great comebacks to win tough matches. But, this match saw no such comeback. Rublev won the first set and after Novak’s second set win, Rublev made sure he won his 11th career title in style. The social media went berserk after Rubev’s dominating 6-0 this set win.

They said jokingly that the reason for the ban is clear with the strength Rublev is showing and Daniil Medvedev’s already proven game.
Rublev will continue his clay session at the Roland Garros and he would want to make good on the promising form he has shown at the Serbia Open.
