Serbian tennis professional Novak Djokovic during an outdoor court tennis practice was seen taking a break and playing a rather fun game of touch tennis, which he addresses as the ‘Djoko game’ with his practice partner.
Nole, who recently attended his brother Djordje’s wedding just a few days back earlier was banned from participating in the US Open due to his stance on the Covid-19 mandate which eventually led him to forcibly recuse himself from the championship at the last second.

The former world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who is known not to shy away from a challenge in a rather fun game of mini-tennis had himself record the short game and uploaded it to his Instagram handle. The game of touch tennis works in the opposite way of how tennis is played. Players to play have to return the ball coming from the opponent’s side without letting bounce onto their side and then return the same after having bounced the ball once on their side of the area.
The game of touch tennis is played not only as a recreation but also to enhance a player’s overall steady on-court movements and to build up their reflex timings. Touch tennis is usually played on a different court type unlike the one in found in lawn tennis. This is executed exclusively in the service box of the court to avoid the game from being extremely strenuous.
21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic earlier at the US Open had his hopes crushed due to his Covid-19 vaccination status which earlier this year also cost him performing at the Australian Open. As of now the Serb is still unvaccinated and does not plan to change that when asked about the same in a conference he stated that he feels when he contracted the virus last year he built up enough immunity to fight against the virus in near future.
As per his tour schedule, he was to perform next at the upcoming Laver Cup but unfortunately pulled out from the tournament citing personal reasons.
