Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer retired from tennis at the 2022 Laver Cup. The 20-time Grand Slam champion left a big void when he left the Tour.

Federer’s retirement was an emotional moment for everyone and it showed in their expressions. While Federer cannot be brought back on the tour, his fans can surely relive his last few days as a professional tennis player.

Amazon Prime Video is all set to release a documentary on Roger Federer’s retirement at the Laver Cup in 2022. The last few days Federer spent with his rivals and teammates were captured and now they will be released for the Swiss maestro’s fans to watch.

While an official announcement on the same is still awaited, it has been confirmed through various reports that a feature-length documentary chronicling the final 12 days of Roger Federer’s professional tennis career will be released around Wimbledon this year.

It is worth noting that the Roger Federer documentary which will be released in July this year was never intended for public view.

Roger Federer himself revealed that he wanted to savor those last moments of his tennis career to show it to his family and friends. However, the Swiss maestro is now ready to share his emotions with his fans. 

Initially, the idea was to capture the final moments of my professional tennis career so that I could have it later on to show my family and friends. During my career, I tended to shy away from having cameras around me and my family, especially during important moments. But I didn’t see the harm in shooting this as it was never intended for the public.

Notably, the film will show the last moments Federer spent as a professional tennis player. The documentary will show Federer at his candid best. 

However, we captured so many powerful moments, and it transformed into a deeply personal journey. I am happy to be partnering with Prime Video because of their vast global reach and significant presence in the film industry. This ensures that the story of my final days in tennis will resonate with both tennis enthusiasts and broader audiences worldwide.
The Swiss legend further stated.

His family has also actively participated in revealing the secrets to the fans. Federer’s biggest rivals- Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray will also be featured in this documentary.
