Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem is currently going through a rough patch in his career. The 2020 US Open winner, who has a career-high ranking of World No. 3, has fallen all the way down to the 92nd rank on the ATP rankings.

He recently also lost in the first round of the 2024 Australian Open against Felix Auger-Aliassime. Following his loss against the Canadian, Thiem took to X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate Felix Auger-Aliassime for his victory.

He also talked about his immediate plans and said that he would now return to Austria and then make a detailed decision about his future. Talking about the match between the two, Felix emerged victorious in a thrilling match that went on till the 5th set. He won the match 6-3, 7-5, 6-7 (7), 5-7, 6-3.

Before heading into the Australian Open, Dominic Thiem played in the Brisbane International. He lost to Rafael Nadal, who was making his comeback in that match, in two sets.

Thiem’s only good performance in the recent past came at the Kitzbuhel Open, where he reached the final. The US Open that he won in 2020 was indeed his last trophy.
