Women’s Singles Dubai Championships 2024 Draw Preview

First Quarter

Iga Swiatek, the World No. 1 will face the winner of the first-round match between Sloane Stephens and one of the qualifiers. On the other hand, there is Varvara Gracheva and Tatjana Maria and the winner is set to face the winner of the first-round matchup between Elina Svitolina and Anhelina Kalinina. Most likely Swiatek will face Svitolina in the third round.

10th seed Daria Kasatkina will face Marta Kostyuk in the opening round and the winner is set to face the winner of the first-round matchup between Anastasia Potapova and Lin Zhu. 6th seed Qinwen Zheng will face the winner of Magda Linette and one of the qualifiers in the second round. Most likely Zheng will face Kasatkina in the third round.

Second Quarter

Coco Gauff finds herself in the second quarter along with players such as Elise Mertens and Lesia Tsurenko. With Gauff receiving a bye in the first round, it will be exciting to see how she fares against the likes of Karolina Pliskova and Carolina Garcia in the third round.

5th seed Ons Jabuer has to face one of the qualifiers in the second round but will have a hard task to overcome in the third round. Players such as Paula Badosa and Jelena Ostapenko will be up against the Tunisian as things are drawn.

Third Quarter

Seeded 8th, Maria Sakkari will take on the winner of Katerina Siniakova and Emma Navarro in the second round. On the other hand, Leylah Fernandez will take on one of the qualifiers in the first round and will have to face the winner between Beatriz Haddad Maia and Jasmine Paolini. Maia will face Sakkari in the third round as things are drawn.

4th seed Elena Rybakina will face the winner between Arantxa Rus and Victoria Azarenka in the second round. Ekaterina Alexadrova will face one of the qualifiers and in the second round will face the winner between Caroline Dolehide and Petra Martic. Most likely Rybakina will face Alexandrova in the third round.

Fourth Quarter

7th seed Marketa Vondrousova is all set to face the winner of Mirra Andreeva and Peyton Stearns in the second round. She is most likely to face Liumila Samsonova who will have to overcome the likes of Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Marie Bouzkova. In the third-round encounter, Vondrousova is expected to face Samsonova.

Prime contender and recent Australian Open winner Aryna Sabalenka will play for the first time since her triumph in Melbourne. She will face the winner between Xinyu Wang and Donna Vekic in the second round. In her third-round encounter, Veronika Kudermetova is among the favorites to face but she has to overcome Sofia Kenin or Sorana Cirstea.

Fourth Quarterfinal Prediction: Marketa Vondrousova vs. Aryna Sabalenka

Semifinals

In the first semi-final, American top seed Coco Gauff will go head to head against the defending champion, Swiatek. Swiatek has found her form back in the last few months and after reclaiming her World No 1 spot, she will look to knock Gauff out and glide her way into the finals.

In the second semi-finals, Aryna Sabalenka will face one of her favorite opponents, Elena Rybakina in an action-packed encounter. In the eight matches they played faced each other, Sabalenka won eight times and Rybakina won thrice. Depending on the recent performances, the Belarusian is set to take the win.
